Lead singer Jarvis Cocker based this song on actual words spoken to him from a fellow art student.
For me this summed up the Brit Pack art and music culture of the 90s

Choon! and yes, i agree with your political point. We do have Jeremy Corbyn on our side but for how much longer? Other than him, the only party i feel ideologically close to are the SNP and i can’t vote for them down here

Many people in England queried, in all seriousness, it was possible to vote for SNP candidates in the last elections.

i would if they stood here. im not convinced Independence is the best thing for scotland (and its for them to decide anyway) but their socialist and anti-austerity principles are definitely best for the UK as a whole.
